Vertical Mapper 3.7 3

Clamp the rear vertical rack rail and the outer rail together by using the two U shaped brackets of each rail (Fig. 3.23). This will secure the rear vertical rack rail to the outer rail. The two front vertical rack rails can now be moved into position. The front vertical rack rails are now in the same plane as the rear vertical rack rails and the outer rail. If the front vertical rack rails are to be housed in the same racks as the front and the rear vertical rack rails, then the front vertical rack rails are likely to be clamped to the rack (Fig. 3.24).

Align the front vertical rack rail with the rear vertical rack rail. The front vertical rack rail is now between the rear vertical rack rail and the outer rail. The latching mechanism is now in place, and the rear vertical rack rail and the outer rail can be moved in a square space:

Fig. 3.24 shows the three vertical rack rails prior to installation into a rack. The racks are now secured to the floor by the rack legs. The racks are now ready to be attached to the wall or ceiling, in the position that was determined by the alignment of the racks to the laser. The user is now ready to begin installation of the vertical rack rails in the racks.

Position the laser as close to the top of the vertical rack rails as is reasonable. As the laser beam is not visible from the front, the position of the laser will need to be adjusted accordingly. The maximum height of the laser should not be greater than 10mm above the top of the rack rails. The laser module needs to be located at the top of the vertical rack rails, as the laser is not visible from the back of the rack. A laser that is shown in Fig. 3.25 does not provide sufficient illumination to read the laser head from the back of the rack. A minimum distance of 10mm should be kept between the laser and the rack rails, as the laser will not illuminate the rack from this distance. When using a laser head made by a vendor that requires minimal spacing, the maximum distance should be at least 20mm, depending on the capabilities of the laser head. The laser head needs to be set up such that the laser beam is visible from the front of the rack, as shown in Fig. 3.25.
